Vios Fertility Institute – St. Louis Welcomes Two New Physicians to its Team of Fertility Experts

St. Louis, MO (August 1, 2019) — Doctors Amber Cooper, MD, MSCI, FACOG (medical and IVF practice director), and Julie Rhee, MD, FACOG of Vios Fertility Institute St. Louis are pleased to announce the addition of Violet Klenov, MD, FACOG, and MacKenzie Purdy, MD, FACOG to the team. Both women are fellowship-trained, board eligible reproductive endocrinologists and infertility specialists.

Dr. Violet Klenov considers it a privilege to serve the community in which she was raised as a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Washington University in St. Louis and staying true to her Midwest roots, completed her fellowship at the University of Iowa in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Born in Russia, Dr. Klenov moved to the United States at age six and has been fascinated with science since childhood. During residency, she had the opportunity to work with Dr. Amber Cooper of Vios and considered the experience to be quite valuable. After witnessing, firsthand, the technological innovations and patient focused care the field offered, Dr. Klenov immediately knew she would specialize in the field of reproductive medicine.

Dr. Klenov has received numerous awards for her research and minimally invasive surgical skills. Most recently, she was recognized by the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society for her research on the effects of environmental toxins on women’s reproductive systems. While she is dedicated to all facets of reproductive health, Dr. Klenov has particular interest in counseling patients about cost-effective treatment, highly individualized patient care, and the impact that nutrition and diet changes can have on fertility.

Dr. MacKenzie Purdy comes from the esteemed Mayo Clinic and is thrilled to be caring for patients in a city she loves. She first decided to join the field of reproductive medicine after witnessing the wealth of innovation and technology the field offered. Dr. Purdy has tremendous compassion for patients in the women’s health field and has experienced IVF treatment firsthand. This has allowed her to connect with patients in a unique way, understanding the emotions, challenges, and joyous moments individuals and couples can face during treatment.

After receiving her medical degree at the University of Missouri, Dr. Purdy completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of Kentucky. She has a master’s in biomedical sciences and completed her Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Purdy is well-recognized for her numerous peer-reviewed publications and abstracts. Her specialties lie in pre-implantation genetic testing, carrier screening and recurrent pregnancy loss. She welcomes patients who have been   unsuccessful at other practices and is confident that her unique approach to personalized patient care will yield encouraging results.

“Words cannot express how excited and honored we are, that two brilliant, passionate and exceptionally-trained women, are joining our team,” explains Dr. Cooper. “Vios will now have the largest private practice in the St. Louis region and more importantly, one that remains focused on the personalized care of the individual patient and couple. Dr. Purdy and Dr. Klenov embody what our entire St. Louis team strives for everyday – helping patients preserve fertility and build families. Our focus is to give back to the community, achieve the highest therapeutic success rates, and offer the most innovative options available.”

In addition, Vios will be expanding their offices in September to a new location at 5551 Winghaven Boulevard, in O’Fallon, Missouri.

“Vios Fertility St. Louis was the very first Vios practice to open and it is hard to believe we are coming up on our four-year anniversary this fall. We are so proud of what we have built and the care we continue to provide our patients in St. Louis and the surrounding communities,” explains Dr. Rhee. “To witness how much this practice has grown has been extremely rewarding and we are excited to have Dr. Klenov and Dr. Purdy join us and continue to help so many people in our community, through all of our offices in Illinois and Missouri, realize their dreams of building a family!”
