Our Journey to Kindbody

My husband and I got married in 2016. Shortly after, we began to really start thinking about our future family and began to try for a baby. A year into trying, we sought help from my doctor to explore why it just wasn’t happening for us.

The Diagnosis and Fertility Struggles

Fast forward 6 years down the road, I had been diagnosed with endometriosis and infertility. I had surgery, medications, numerous IUIs, nothing was working. At the time we initially began looking into IVF as a treatment option, neither of our employers covered fertility treatments through insurance, and the financial portion was a huge barrier for us.

A Glimpse of Hope

Thankfully, Wal-Mart, the company Tyler works for, announced in 2022 that they would be offering fertility treatment coverage, including IVF. We were thrilled at the prospect of being able to at least give it a try.

Meeting Dr. Sasan and the Kindbody Team

We were scheduled for a video consult with Dr. Sasan initially. She was amazing; she provided so much support and education in that first 45-minute session that we were completely blown away and really set the tone for the rest of our treatment experience with Kindbody.

Our Journey to Atlanta

We live in rural KY, so the closest clinic for us was the Atlanta clinic. We made the journey there where we were met with the most wonderful team of doctors, nurses, and support staff. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted as if they have known you your whole life. Everyone was welcoming and understanding, and truly, as the name claims, kind.

The Amazing Doctors and Support

Dr. Caine and Dr. Garvin were both magnificent. They answered my questions (and I had lotsss of questions) and they made me feel so at ease. One experience that will always stand out to me came from a conversation with one of my nurses, Pam. It was the night before our transfer and I was a complete wreck. I was terrified, everything had been going so well, and I was just nervously waiting for the other shoe to drop and for something to go wrong. I had sent a message on the Portal at 10 pm, fully expecting to not receive a response until the next morning. Pam called me at 10 pm to personally tell me that everything was going to be okay and for me to only worry about resting and taking care of myself and that everything else would fall into place. She probably has no idea how much that 30-second phone call meant to myself and my husband.

The Joyful News

After transfer, the team was wonderful about checking in during the two-week wait. Amazingly, we received the most wonderful news during the TWW: our first transfer was a success! Currently, I am 25 weeks along with our sweet baby boy who we cannot wait to meet in late October!

Update: He is here!

We’re overjoyed to share that Chelsea and Tyler’s baby boy has arrived, filling their lives with happiness. The new parents are absolutely thrilled and grateful for the Kindbody team’s support in making their dream of parenthood a reality.
