Fertility Assessment
A Fertility Assessment is a way to learn more about your fertility and your options. It includes a 1:1 consultation, fertility hormone testing, an ultrasound of your ovaries, and a personalized plan for your next steps.
What's Included
The San Francisco office is led by Dr. Dr. Lynn Marie Westphal, Kindbody’s Chief Medical Officer and Dr. Nastaran Foyouzi, distinguished specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology and Medical Genetics. The fertility assessment includes all of the below, but laboratory fees may be extra if not covered by insurance.
A Blood Test for Fertility-Related Hormones
Hormones involved in the ovulation process can be measured to provide a better sense of your current ovarian reserve. The Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH), which is released by your eggs as they grow, is one of the most reliable measures of your ovarian reserve. Your levels of AMH levels can be measured through a simple blood test.
An Ultrasound for the Follicles on Your Ovaries
Follicles are small bumps on your ovaries that contain the eggs released every cycle during menstruation. The number of follicles detected can indicate the number of eggs available in a given month.
A Physical Exam and Medical History Review
Your age, lifestyle, medical history, and genetic background can all contribute to your fertility. These factors will be assessed and taken into account by our fertility specialists when creating a personalized plan.
A Personalized Plan for Your Next Steps
You will have a 1:1 meeting with one of our fertility specialists to discuss your results and your family planning goals. The specialist will work with you to come up with a personalized plan that works for you.
