Dr. Ellen Hayes is devoted to assisting patients facing fertility challenges and has helped individuals and couples in Wisconsin build their families for over 15 years. Board-certified in both Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and OBGYN, Dr. Hayes graduated from Loyola University Chicago – Stritch School of Medicine with honors. She completed her residency in OBGYN at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where she was recognized by her department for her outstanding surgical skills. She then completed fellowship training at Emory University, where her thesis project received the prestigious John D. Thompson research award. A member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and a fellow of the American College of OBGYN, she has authored numerous articles in scientific journals and has participated in research studies in her field which have been presented nationally. Dr. Hayes believes in providing honest and accurate information, incorporating healthy lifestyle recommendations, and taking a collaborative approach to care with each patient. She loves finding answers for her patients as well as providing the best possible experience for patients during the treatment process.
Sonja Araoz, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is an experienced Nurse Practitioner with a strong background in patient education, specializing in female reproductive health, pregnancy, and a wide range of women’s health topics. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Alverno College and her Advanced Practice Nurse certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. A Wisconsin native, Sonja is bilingual in both Spanish and English.
With a deep passion for expanding access to fertility care, Sonja is currently pursuing a PhD in Nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her research focuses on understanding the barriers to fertility preservation services for minority women diagnosed with cancer. Sonja understands the profound significance of building a family, whether it’s happening now or being planned for the future. She is committed to supporting you in whichever path you choose and is honored to be a part of your journey, providing compassionate care every step of the way.
Outside of her professional life, Sonja enjoys traveling, boating on weekends, and spending quality time with her three children—Jayden, Axel, and Milah—her husband, Irving, and their two French Bulldogs.
Cara began her nursing career in Labor and Delivery at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago, where she developed a strong foundation in women’s health and a passion for supporting patients through significant life moments. Motivated to deepen her impact in the field, she pursued a Master’s degree and became a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.
Following graduation, she joined Kindbody Milwaukee. Her clinical interests include fertility preservation, and she is deeply committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care that empowers individuals to make informed decisions about their reproductive health.
She strives to create a welcoming, supportive environment for every patient and believes in the importance of education, empathy, and evidence-based practice to enhance both outcomes and experiences. She feels honored to walk alongside patients on their fertility journeys and is dedicated to helping them navigate each step with clarity and confidence.
